MACOMB/MOLINE, IL — An esteemed ceremony acknowledging the academic and personal triumphs of Western Illinois University students and alumni is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16 in Macomb. This special event will honor graduates at all levels, representing both the Macomb and Quad Cities campuses. The number of students eligible to participate in the Fall 2023 Commencement ceremony is 646, which includes 381 undergraduate students, of which 60 are in the Bachelor of Arts in General Studies degree program; 262 are master’s-level graduate students; and four students are earning their... Read More

Pulling up to COYA’S CAFE , I see a grown man in the parking lot sitting quietly in his work truck. He catches my attention because I see him with a half-unwrapped burrito in his hand, and tears streaming down his face. I’m genuinely concerned, but I’ve yet to eat today and he looks like he wants to be left alone. Inside Coyas it’s like part candy store part kitchen of magical offerings. The Western Illinois University-Quad Cities Interdisciplinary English and Arts Society (IDEAS) will host a holiday potluck at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, in the Building C Atrium. MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – -The Western Illinois University School of Music faculty will present a Woodwind Christmas Concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10 on the WIU-QC campus in the Building C Atrium and at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11 on the Macomb campus in the Macomb Art Center. WIU’s Woodwind Faculty will perform works by Pyotr Tchaikovsky and Leroy Anderson along with other classic christmas carols.
