Rock Island Schools Orchestra Teachers Invited to Play at All-State Music Festival

In one week, several RIMSD#41 students will be performing at the Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) All-State conference. Back in November 2021, 11 Rock Island High School Students were chosen to perform at the Illinois Music Education Association.  It won’t just be students representing the district though, two of our staff were selected to accompany students on a piece. A major honor considering only selected teachers from across the state are invited to play. Tuesday, January 25, 2022, A Federal court decision ruled that a statewide injunction against the Iowa Mask Ban was a broader action than necessary. The case will now go back to the District Court for further review. As a result of today’s ruling, the Davenport Community School District will remove all universal mandatory masking requirements for students and staff throughout the district effective immediately per Iowa law. MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – Western Illinois University will continue with the mandatory gateway testing on the Macomb and Quad Cities campuses for the remainder of this week (through Thursday, Jan. 27). Mandatory weekly testing for individuals who are not vaccinated will resume Monday, Jan. 31. All students, faculty, and staff* who are physically on WIU’s campuses must complete a COVID test this week, regardless of vaccination status.
