Quad Cities Registered High School Apprenticeship Signing Day Held In Bettendorf

The Quad Cities Registered High School Apprenticeship 2023 Signing Day Event was held today at the Waterfront Center in Bettendorf! During this event 55 students from the Davenport Community School District signed apprenticeships with area employers. Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds also attended the event and signed the Office of Apprenticeship bill into law, surrounded by local students and members of the apprenticeship program. Bettendorf Public Works Crews Start to Remove Flood Barriers Today

U.S. 67 (River Drive), Grant Street, and 6th Street are back open as the Mississippi River recedes. As part of the reopening process, Bettendorf Public Works Crews cleaned and inspected the roadways for damage, as well as removed the concrete barriers and ensured floodwaters did not harm the electricity connected to traffic lights. Public Works Crews are now focusing on Leach Park, which remains closed to the public. Starting May 11, workers will start removing debris and the concrete flood wall.
