Here's The Biggest News You Probably Haven't Heard This Week, Quad-Cities

The past couple weeks have been unbelievably active in the Quad-Cities, and statewide. Illinois Governor JB Pritzker announced new covid-19 mitigations, including a return to masks in schools and mandatory vaccinations for some state employees. This comes on the heels of covid numbers spiking across the state. Along those same lines, Codfish Hollow Barnstormers said they would no longer allow people to attend their concerts without proof of vaccination, and would not allow anyone under the age of 12 to attend concerts since they’re not eligible to receive vaccinations. And then on top of... Read More

Just What Exactly Is 'The Black Eye Club,' And Why Are So Many Celebrities A Part Of It?

How many people do you know who currently have black eyes? How many people in the past year have you seen who have had black eyes? Just in general, how many people can you remember having black eyes in your life over the past year, two years, five years, ten years? Unless you’re a boxer, you train in MMA, or you run an underground fight club (damn! I wasn’t supposed to talk about that!), you probably don’t see many, if any, folks with black eyes running around. Heck, I trained in karate, boxing, tae kwan do, and muy thai kickboxing over the course of about about 20 years, and... Read More

How Will The World Change Tomorrow After UFO Disclosure?

How Will The World Change Tomorrow After UFO Disclosure?

“What is true, and I’m actually being serious here, is that there’s footage and records of objects in the skies that we don’t know exactly what they are, we can’t explain how they moved, their trajectory, they did not have an easily explainable pattern. So, I think that people still take seriously trying to investigate and find out what that is.” Who said that? Was it Giorgio Tsoukalos, the “not sayin’ it was aliens, but it was aliens!” guy? Was it Fox Mulder? Was it Harold and Kumar at 2 a.m.? Well, maybe Harold and Kumar said something similar,... Read More

UFOs Are Real. The Government Has Confirmed It. Are We Just Going To Ignore This?

UFOs Are Real. The Government Has Confirmed It. Are We Just Going To Ignore This?

There’s a phrase, whistling in the dark, describing someone scared who is taking any number of glib, superficial actions to avoid confronting the fact that deep down, they’re frightened out of their minds. This phrase is reminiscent of much of the media right now, as this week, and several times over the previous few months, the United States government and the U.S. military has admitted the existence of UFOs. This is not a joke. I’m not kidding. There isn’t a punchline at the end of this column, as there usually is. The U.S. government, the Pentagon, has admitted the existence... Read More

Smoking The Controversy On Facebook That Everyone Is Talking About

There’s a controversy on Facebook that everyone is talking about. I know, shocking! What is it, a Tuesday? Yes, actually it is. Quick, pick up your dry cleaning before they close. You’re welcome. Of course, every day there’s a new controversy on social media. The social media companies pay people to engage and stoke controversies and then they push them through their algorithm to people they know will get ticked off, to get people fighting, and that’s how they draw bigger audiences, and make more money. The previous paragraph was brought to you by… But today’s... Read More

Lil Nas X Is Just Triggering People For Attention, And, Predictably, They're Giving It To Him

So, the latest ridiculous pop cultural controversy out there is over the Lil Nas X “Montero” video, which has right wing conservative social media throwing holy water, exorcisms, and epithets in equal measure at the singer who shot to fame with “Old Town Road.” As one person cried on Twitter, Lil Nas X has completely disappointed them because their kids loved “Old Town Road,” which also featured Billy Ray Cyrus, whose daughter, Miley, has been the target of some of these same holy rollers trying to condemn pop cultural provocateurs. Which is…... Read More
