Moline’s Quad-City Music Guild Returns With Streamed “Spamalot”

Quad-City Music Guild’s first complete musical in a year and a half, “Monty Python’s Spamalot,” will be filmed from Moline’s Prospect Park theater Saturday and available to be streamed online June 11 and 12 at 7:30 p.m., and June 13 at 2 p.m. Though the state of Illinois may lift all indoor capacity limits Friday, June 11 (compared to allowing theaters over 200 seats now to be at 25-percent capacity), the decision was made months ago for “Spamalot” not to have in-person performances. “I felt pretty heavily we needed to lock ourselves into one direction, because I was making choices... Read More

Quad-City Music Guild is seeking staff applicants for their production of Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn, to be staged December 1 st through the 5 th , 2021. The rehearsal period for the holiday production typically begins in early to mid-October. Positions to fill include Book Director, Music Director, Asst. Book Director/Stage Manager, Asst Music Director/Accompanist, Choreographer, Scenic Designer, Costume Designer, Light Designer, Sound Designer and Props Chair. The new Bettendorf-based Double Threat Studios will debut its first production, “James and the Giant Peach Jr,” this weekend in three performances at Playcrafters Barn Theatre, 4950 35th Ave., Moline. “We have been lucky enough to be able to work with several local theaters to help support through the pandemic,” Double Threat co-owner Megan Warren said this week. Circa ’21 Dinner Playhouse, Rock Island, is seeking online submissions to fill open roles for their long-awaited summer production of “Saturday Night Fever.” The highly anticipated musical was in dress rehearsals when the theater at 1828 3rd Ave., Rock Island, had to shut down March 16, 2020, because of Covid-19.
