Illinois State Senator Mike Halpin Looks Back Upon Legislative Session Accomplishments

State Senator Mike Halpin is looking back upon his accomplishments during the past legislative session.

He says, “When I decided to run for the State Senate, one of my top priorities was making folks across our district feel heard. And after taking time to listen to their concerns, I’m proud to have delivered some solutions.”

Some of the accomplishments Halpin can tout include:

1️⃣ Securing a $3.8 million infrastructure grant for Fresh Films. Through careful and strategic investment in film infrastructure, we can establish Illinois as a go-to production destination for Hollywood’s robust movie industry. A rising tide lifts all boats and both our local and state economies are sure to benefit from this.

2️⃣ Advocating for the expansion of the Illinois child tax credit. If this bill is passed, working and middle class families across the state would have an additional safety net in the face of skyrocketing costs of living to ensure that they have the resources to raise the future of our state and country.

3️⃣ Supporting the Family Farm Preservation Act. This bill is a bipartisan effort at addressing the real financial issues that plague our essential small and family farmers. Small and family farms are essential to Illinois’s agriculture industry and it’s only right that we take care of them.

4️⃣ Securing nearly $30,000 in grants for 16 school districts across Western Illinois. Investing in our students’ education is investing in our future. The grants have provided libraries with resources in the form of books, e-books, periodicals, multilinguals, technology and other programs.
