Housing renewal for current Western Illinois University students who wish to live on campus for the 2024-2025 academic year begins Friday, Jan. 26. Students were emailed individual renewal times and instructions late last week. Genesis Medical Center, DeWitt, now part of MercyOne, will become the new owner of Scott’s Thrifty White Drug in DeWitt, effective Dec. 15, 2023. The pharmacy will remain at 629 6th Ave., continuing a downtown presence that began when Scott Drug opened in 1962. The new name will be Scott Drug, affiliated with Genesis Health System. The hours of operation will stay the same. MOLINE–On Thursday evening, The John Deere Foundation and River Bend Food Bank jointly hosted a celebration at The John Deere Pavilion to celebrate the conclusion of a 2-month long fundraising campaign. The match campaign, titled “Plowing a New Path to End Hunger,” began in August 2023 with a pledge from The John Deere Foundation to match community donations raised by River Bend Food Bank up to $650,000. This investment, combined with matching community donations, would allow River Bend to purchase an additional 6.5 million meals, closing the meal gap in Scott, Rock Island, and Dubuque Counties.... Read More
