Mid America Premier U10 Team Dominates Elmhurst Cup Tourney

Mid America Premier Soccer’s top-rated U10 team opened its new season by continuing its winning ways with a dominating win of the Elmhurst Cup over the weekend. The team played four games over the Aug. 12-13 tourney against a variety of squads from around Chicagoland on the pitches of the titular Windy City suburb. Seven teams were involved in the tourney, with the first three games being scored on points for victory and margin of victory. Are you ready for some football? How about some flag football? The 2nd Annual QC River Bowl will be happening this Saturday Aug 5 and Sunday Aug 6 at Centennial Park (315 S Marquette St Davenport). This event brings together local adult flag football teams to raise money for local charities. This year’s recipient is the Humility of Mary homeless shelter. The oldest, largest and longest week-long bicycle touring event in the world has finally arrived. That’s right, it’s time for RAGBRAI! The Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) is scheduled to begin Saturday July 22 and conclude on Saturday July 29. The RAGBRAI route averages 468 miles. The BMX Racing Zone is hosting their first BMX Video Contest! Any video footage shot after June 1, whether it is clips from the race track, the skatepark, dirt jumps or cruising your neighborhood are all accepted. The summer soccer camp, the Rock Island Red Dragons Camp, will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 13, 15, 20, 22 and 27 at Hauberg Park in Rock Island! The Quad Cities’ Ultimate Pickup Game is once again upon us! That’s right, it’s time for the 10th Annual Hoopin’ for the House! Hoopin’ for the House is a fundraiser brought to you by Friendly House of Davenport. It is a twelve-hour marathon basketball game for adults.
