Geneseo’s Seth Ernst Soccer Slam Canceled, Will Return In 2022

For 14 years, Geneseo’s Seth Ernst Soccer Slam has been an annual tradition of fun and competition for area kids loving the game of soccer. This year, for the first time since its inception, it won’t be held. Seth Ernst officials announced they’re canceling the event for 2021 due to covid, looking to start it up again in 2022. Soccer fans are going to score big this weekend as the Quad-Cities First Annual Q-C World Cup debuts from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Campbell Sports Complex, 8399 29th St W, Rock Island! Join Quad-Cities Interfaith organization in celebrating all the people from countries all around the world who now call the Quad-Cities their home by watching their teams participate in the beautiful game. Abbie Metz Named Coach Of Black Hawk College’s First Women’s Soccer Team

MOLINE (BHC) — Black Hawk College will launch its new women’s soccer program with a familiar face. Abbie Metz, a Black Hawk College grad, has been tapped to lead the team that will begin competing in Fall 2021. On Aug. 1, she will become the Braves’ first-ever women’s soccer head coach. “I look forward to working with her on building the program from the ground up,” said Arnie Chavera, interim athletic director. East Moline’s Deontae Nache Selected For Midwest Olympic Development Soccer Camp

East Moline’s Deontae Nache, a member of the East Moline Silvis Soccer Club U14 RENEGADES, was selected to the Midwest Region Olympic Development Program ID Camp. The regional camp brings top players from the Midwest to play for high level coaches and college coaches to display their skills in hopes of being selected to represent the Midwest Region. Sean Leary Soccer Camp Canceled Due To Coronavirus Concerns

The first annual Sean Leary Pre-Season Soccer Camp, originally due to run March 14-April 11, has been canceled due to concerns about the coronavirus. Illinois Youth Soccer Association has canceled all events and issued a mandatory cancellation order for events up through April 15 for all clubs in the state, and the camp is following that order. The decision was made not only out of concern for children attending the camp, but for their grandparents and younger siblings who are the most vulnerable to exposure to the virus, as well as parents and coaches. Fifth Annual Midwest Elite Dragons Soccer Camp Kicking Off In March!

Got a player interested in learning about soccer, or keeping his or her skills sharp over the winter? The fifth annual Midwest Elite Dragons Soccer CAMP is coming up and the deadline to register is March 10! The CAMP, for boys and girls born in years 2007, 2008 and 2009, will teach kids soccer fundamentals, attack and defensive formations, team play and game theory. EMSSC Bringing Top Soccer To The Quad-Cities

East Moline Silvis Soccer Club has long brought top soccer play to the area. Now they’re bringing TOPSoccer to the Quad-Cities. EMSSC is debuting TOPSoccer, a program for mentally and physically disabled people ages 5-22, at the East Moline Soccer Complex in May. TOPSoccer is a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities to learn and play the game of soccer. Athletes with mental or physical disabilities can check out the Beautiful Game with a beauty of a new program from East Moline Silvis Soccer Club! EMSSC is proud to present Top Soccer!  This program is for athletes ages 5-22 with mental or physical disabilities who want to learn to play soccer.  This will be a four week session in May, where once per week athletes practice skills and then participate in a coach-led game!
