Spring is here! Which means it’s time to clean up the remnants of a harsh winter. Volunteers are needed for Bettendorf in Bloom, which takes place on Saturday Apr 6. Bettendorf in Bloom will focus on the clean-up and beautification of downtown streets and the I-74 corridor to Middle Road, in Bettendorf. Volunteers will meet at 8 a.m. at the Quad Cities-Waterfront Convention Center (2021 State Street Bettendorf). It was a situation akin to signing divorce papers after a three-year separation: On March 30, the Davenport Daytrotter operation ceased recording bands coming through the area, and on April 1, the DT owners, Wolfgang’s Vault/Paste, announced that they would be closing up shop here in the Q-Cs and consolidating their recording in their already-existing Atlanta and New York studios. Paging Fox Mulder! According to the National UFO Reporting Center, www.nuforc.org, the Quad-Cities has been hit with some more UFO activity, in Davenport.
