Hear Creepy Tales Of Local Cemeteries At Davenport Public Library

October is the perfect month to unearth stories of our local cemeteries and their inhabitants. In our program on Wednesday, October 20th at 6:30 pm, tales of murders, tragedies, mayhem, and connections to local hauntings abound. We will use the collections of the Richardson-Sloane Special Collections Center to help us untangle some of these local mysteries and eerie happenstances. “Winnie the Pooh” is stumbling and bumbling into Davenport Junior Theater this weekend — and all shows are free admission. Quad Cities – The National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC) will host a series of scholastic LAN events throughout the 2021-22 academic year called the Hometown Series.  A LAN event stands for Local Area Network event where players connect computers together for multiplayer video games played simultaneously. Illinois artist Jason Ackman will have his solo exhibition, “Navigating Boarders,” on display through Friday, Oct. 29, at the Western Illinois University Art Gallery. Trick or Treat hours in the City of Moline have been set for Sunday, October 31st from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Illinois Department of Public Health has released the following guidance for families participating: If you think you could have COVID-19 or have been exposed, do not participate in in-person Halloween festivities or give out candy to trick-or-treaters.
