Thanksgiving turkeys and supplies have been gobbled up quickly off Quad-Cities grocery store shelves, so if you’re still on the hunt for a bird, you might have tough time. A trek to three area HyVee and two Aldi stores and a Target on the Illinois and Iowa sides of the river found ALL six of them SOLD OUT of turkeys, as of this morning. As for other supplies, the Aldis in Davenport and Rock Island were also sold out of cranberries, mashed potatoes and some stuffings, although still had gravy and a good supply of vegetables. Rock Island Public Library has changed its policies and procedures to adapt to the changing times with covid. RIPL remains open for Grab and Go, Curbside, and Online services. Only quick browsing, material checkout, returns, and limited-time public computer/WiFi reservations are allowed. Tables, chairs, and extended visits are not available. A maximum of one-hour per person, per day is available for either computer or inside WiFi appointments. All library events continue to be offered virtually or on a take-home method. As a result to the rising numbers of COVID-19 infections and hospitalizations in Scott County and Davenport, the Library will be rolling back some services in order to follow the guidance of the City of Davenport.  At this time, the Library will have restricted access during normal hours of operation.  The library is implementing the following changes: Patrons will no longer be able to enter our buildings to browse for materials and must place holds on all items to pick-up by curbside (|Main |Eastern) and by drive-up window (|Fairmount). Rock Island County At A 'Crisis Point' For Covid, Health Department Officials Say

Rock Island County is at a “crisis point” in regard to covid-19 cases, according to health department officials. Currently, a record 92 patients are in Rock Island County hospitals with COVID-19. In addition, the health department reports 114 additional cases.
