Western Illinois University Meteorology Alumna Featured in Air Force Recruitment Video

A Western Illinois University alumna, working as an Air Force air traffic controller, has been featured in a military recruiting video. Kelsi Carney, a 2016 graduate of WIU’s meteorology program, enlisted in the Air Force during her last year at WIU. She went to basic training in San Antonio, TX, technical training in Mississippi and now has been stationed at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma for the last four years as a staff sergeant/E-5. Free Flu Shot Clinic Scheduled for WIU-Macomb Students Nov. 10

Western Illinois University’s Beu Health Center will offer the final seasonal flu shot clinic of the semester for Western students on the Macomb campus Tuesday, Nov. 10. Flu shots are free for WIU students; however, they must present a valid WIU ID card. Scheduled flu shot clinics will be offered from 1:30-3:30 p.m. in the Student Recreation Center’s Mac Gym. The Western Illinois University Food Pantry will continue implementing the appointment-only system through the remainder of in-person classes on campus, through Wednesday, Nov.18. The Pantry is now located in Horrabin Hall, room 10. The appointment form, located here will be re-used every week to fill out an appointment time. There will not be a weekly form. An appointment must be made to visit the WIU Food Pantry. Patrons are asked to fill this form out in advance of Thursdays or Saturdays. Western Illinois University Offering Master of Arts in Teaching

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – The Western Illinois University School of Education is now offering a Master of Arts in Teaching degree, which is an alternative licensure program. The program has three degree options, including special education (K-21), secondary math (9-12), and secondary science (9-12). Coursework is completed through WIU and a two-year teaching residency. Teacher candidates will receive an educator license with stipulations, an Alternative Provisional Educator (APE).
