Truth First Film Alliance Screening 'Stout Hearted' Free Film For Veteran's Day TONIGHT

Truth First Film Alliance is partnering with the Figge Art Museum to present the “Stout Hearted: George Stout and the Guardians of Art” on Veterans Day evening November 11, 2021. The documentary will screen free to the public at 6:30 p.m. in the Figge’s John Deere Auditorium. Director Kevin J. Kelley and producer Marie Wilkes will take part in Q&A following the 81-minute film. Veterans will be admitted free to the Figge Art Museum exhibits all day on Veterans Day. Military Appreciation Activities Held At Western Illinois University For Veteran’s Day

Western Illinois University has not decided whether to require vaccinations on campus.

Western Illinois University honors military service throughout the year. In recognition of Veterans Day, WIU will host military appreciation activities through Thursday, Nov. 11. Participants in any University-sponsored event or facility are expected to be vaccinated, and all staff, faculty, students and guests are required to wear a face covering in all campus indoor settings. Rock Island National Cemetery to commemorate Veterans Day

The Rock Island National Cemetery will have a Veterans Day Ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 11, at 1 p.m., at Rock Island National Cemetery, at Committal Shelter #2. The Cemetery is undergoing various expansion and upgrade projects throughout the Cemetery; the public is asked to please excuse any messes.  The keynote speaker will be Lt. Gen. Antonio A. Family fun and philanthropy were “in the bag” as Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 25 sponsored its third annual Veteran’s Bags Tournament in support of the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities. On Saturday, November 9, the union headquarters in Rock Island opened its doors to the community as people of all ages enjoyed the relaxed fun of the popular backyard picnic game of competing to toss beanbags into remote targets.
