Rock Island’s David Sebben will have one of his gorgeous photos shared throughout the United States in 2022 — on a postage stamp. Sebben is one of a series of artists who have had their works chosen to grace the face of a new series of stamps based on the river and surrounding environs. Each state touching the river will be honored among the collection, with a photo representing the scenery of that state along the river. Anyone can be an artist, and while the fourth-annual Chalk Art Fest won’t be able to gather in person this year, Quad City Arts is committed to bringing this colorful street art event to the community. So it will take place virtually from Aug. 15 to 28 and anyone and everyone is invited to participate. Chalk artists can create their work safely at home, on their driveway, sidewalk, porch or balcony. Artists celebrate 10 years at Bucktown Center for the Arts

Dee Schricker and Heidi Brandt will be celebrating 10 years of exhibiting their art at Bucktown. Both artists started by renting an 8’ x 12’ wall space in one of the first galleries at Bucktown. They were outgrowing their exhibit area so Dee rented a gallery that became available and offered Heidi space. Dee has since leased four galleries at Bucktown, two being co-owned with Heidi. They currently own and operate the Boho Chic Gallery offering contemporary art for home and office.
