Two Q-C natives, Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, won over the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas, this weekend as the film they wrote, “A Quiet Place,” opened the festival and wowed audiences. Former Quad-Citians Scott Beck and Bryan Woods have had an eventful week. The longtime filmmakers, their careers exploding in Los Angeles, saw two huge milestones in those journeys. Quad-Cities born and raised filmmakers Scott Beck and Bryan Woods have been signed to direct “Haunt,” a new horror-thriller also written by Beck and Woods. Former Quad-Cities filmmakers Scott Beck and Bryan Woods have landed a huge deal, selling their screenplay “A Quiet Place,” to Paramount Pictures. The duo, whose last project was the critically acclaimed “Nightlight,” were born and raised in Bettendorf and made over two dozen films in the area under the Bluebox Limited banner.
