QCScene Cooling Off at Water Gun Fun Run!

Is there any better way to have fun, while cooling off, on a hot Saturday morning than a Water Gun Fun Run?! No, there isn’t! QCScene joined the fun at the brand-new event from the Moline Parks and Recreation Department, Water Gun Fun Run, Saturday Jun 29 at Riverside Park (3300 5th Avenue Moline). Kids from the community, ages 2-12, participated in some water fun this morning! The Toddler Dash (ages 2-4) included an obstacle course, along with the BIG sprinkler! It was a beautiful Saturday morning in the Quad Cities! The perfect weather for a Youth Fishing Challenge! Moline Parks and Recreation Department held their highly anticipated Youth Fishing Challenge today, Saturday Jun 8, at the Riverside Lagoon in Riverside Park (3300 5th Avenue Moline). Moline residents ages 5-12 and their families came together for some friendly competition with their fishing poles and tackle boxes! EMSSC Spartans Raise Almost $1,000!

Thanks to the generosity of managers Jerad Welter of HyVee Moline on 7th Street and John Deere Road, and Alex McGehee of Anchor Lumber in East Moline, the EMSSC Spartans 08 team, ranked #15 in Illinois, was able to raise almost $1,000 in a bake sale at both spots last weekend. The money raised will help pay for tournament costs and uniform costs for the team! For one night only, DJ Shane Brown was back at the club he helped to make famous, 2nd Ave in downtown Rock Island, spinning new dance tracks and a few classics mixed in. Shane is normally at the McClellan Stockade in the Village of East Davenport, but he couldn’t resist the invitation to come back to the Ave to spin, and the packed dance floor was likewise happy to see the veteran DJ back on the tables!    Read More

Quad City Storm End Successful Inaugural Season!

The Quad City Storm ended their home season at the TaxSlayer Center in Moline Saturday night, playing before a packed crowd of appreciative fans! The team ended their home run of their inaugural season as big winners, and so were the charities of the Quad-Cities, as the Storm surpassed their preseason goal of $100,000 raised for local charities by raising OVER $150,000 for charity! The Storm will be back at the TaxSlayer in the fall for their second season, and we’re looking forward to some more great hockey!
