Thurgood Marshall Wins Rock Island School Of The Month

Congratulations to Thurgood Marshall Learning Center for being selected as the School of the Month winner for December.

The District F.A.C.E team selects the school of the month based on the work of the building F.A.C.E team as a collaborative unit, building leader support to the overall building F.A.C.E goals, the intentionality of implementing events that include a variety of different process conditions, and the consistency of F.A.C.E events and operations at each site.

The winning school receives a treat and flags to display outside their school building.

Here’s what their nomination stated, “The Titans staff went above and beyond to support their students and families through a variety of academic, collaborative, and engaging events and activities throughout this school year. They partnered with families and community agencies to make sure the needs of their students were met. Thurgood has engaged partners as assets, used culturally responsive strategies, shared student progress, taught families strategies to use at home, and provided families with opportunities to practice new skills.
