Did you know that writing benefits your mental health? Join us for this unique program about writing for your mental health.

There’s plenty of scientific evidence that proves journaling reduces stress, improves memory, and helps you regulate emotions. Christina will show you grounding techniques used in journaling.

NAMI Offers a Program at Davenport Public Library

Writer Jodie Toohey comes to us from the Midwest Writing Center and she will pick up on the grounding theme and show you how to use your senses as a framework for writing. She will introduce you to the “free-writing style” and guide you as you try several writing exercises. We’ll leave time for a robust discussion at the end of the seminar. Come prepared with a journal, paper, and something to write with. Invest in your well-being and join NAMI Greater Mississippi Valley and the Davenport Public Library as we come “Together for Mental Health.”

This program is best suited for adults. Registration is required. This program is offered in-person or virtually.
