Davenport West High School Students Earn Awards

West High School honored Students of the Month, department awards, and students earning Falcon/Kestral awards.

Falcon Awards are given to 11th and 12th graders.

Kestrel Awards are given to 9th and 10th graders. (A Kestrel is a small falcon.)

Both are given to honor citizenship, leadership, and academics.

Students were recognized with a breakfast highlighted by a keynote address given by Laura Engels, Director of Choirs at West High School. Students honored at this breakfast were chosen by teachers for their leadership and personal focus on positive student behaviors at West High School.

Sean Leary

Sean Leary is an author, director, artist, musician, producer and entrepreneur who has been writing professionally since debuting at age 11 in the pages of the Comics Buyers Guide. An honors graduate of the University of Southern California masters program, he has written over 50 books including the best-sellers The Arimathean, Every Number is Lucky to Someone and We Are All Characters.
