BREAKING NEWS: Gov. JB Pritzker just announced a return to covid mitigations in Illinois due to the huge spikes in infections in the state, especially among unvaccinated people. During an online press conference, Pritzker announced the following mitigations will take place: Masks will be required in all preschool through grade 12 schools, daycares, and indoor sports. There’s been fantastic news in regard to covid cases in Illinois and the Quad-Cities! Yesterday, we reported that Genesis Health Systems was reporting no hospitalizations from covid. Today, the Rock Island County Health Department reports no new cases of COVID-19. The total number of cases remains at 14,998. Currently, there are no patients hospitalized in the county with the virus. Tim Heyvaert, of Erie, Ill., was just 57 when he died Feb. 21, 2016, after a long battle with various medical conditions. His son Wyatt – as he’s done in past years – will lead his band in a memorial tribute, this year in a new venue. According to Illinois Governor JB Pritzker in his daily press conference, the region including Rock Island County and the Illinois Quad-Cities has met the metrics to be moved to phase 4 in covid-19 mitigations.
