In person Career Planning has resumed in Muscatine, Clinton, Maquoketa, and Monticello. IowaWORKS team members provide employment resources for Iowans in in these communities. Services provided include resume and job search assistance, tuition scholarships, paid work experiences, and on-the-job training opportunities.  Our staff also serve businesses by providing unemployment expertise, serving as the primary point of contact for businesses, and posting jobs. Western Illinois University Students Raise Over $10,000 to help Non-Speaking Students in the Region

The Western Illinois University Speech and Hearing Clinic recently raised $10,250 in 10 days to purchase iPads with communication software to help non-speaking students in regional school districts. The Gifting a Voice Campaign ran from Oct. 10-20, which had an initial goal of $5,000, with money raised by students in the WIU Speech Pathology and Audiology program. The Western Illinois Speech Clinic is an on-campus clinic that serves people of all ages with a myriad of communication deficits. If you’re feeling the November spirit of gratitude for your own blessings, the Rock Island Public Library is offering an easy way to give to people in need. The Library’s “Community Comforts” drive will collect donations of household supplies and personal care items through December 4. This national distinction recognizes Genesis achievement in protecting patients from harm and error in the hospital. Bettendorf Student Council loaded up the truck and finished up the Hunger Drive. got 2nd place and raised 53,000 lbs. That amount of food provides over 144,000 meals to our community. For perspective, that feeds a family of four 3 meals a day every day for 62.5 YEARS. East Moline 13-year-old Eli Nache was among the players selected to represent the Midwest Olympic Development Program regional soccer team at the US Youth Soccer ODP Inter-regional Event being held in Orlando, Fla. Nov. 16-20!
