The clean, family-friendly early show by Comedy Sportz is followed up by a later in the evening 9 p.m. R-rated studio series of shows, which offer a variety of fun for a decidedly older crowd. A Beatles tribute band, kids activities, food, other live music and more highlights this year’s East Moline Freedom Fest, helping local veterans and taking place Friday and Saturday, Aug. 5-6 on 15th Avenue in downtown East Moline. The German American Heritage Center is sponsoring a new film and lecture series called “Germans in Hollywood” that debuts at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7 at the Figge Art Museum, John Deere Auditorium.
