Quad City Storm Bringing Hockey Back To Moline's TaxSlayer Oct. 15

The Quad City Storm has finalized its schedule for the 2021-2022 season.  The season will open October 15th at the TaxSlayer Center when the Storm battle the Evansville Thunderbolts.  The final home game will be played on March 5th and the regular season concludes on the road in Peoria on Friday April 8. The Storm’s home schedule consists of nine Friday games, thirteen Saturday games, five Sunday games and one Tuesday game. Art in the Garden is August 7 at the Quad City Botanical Center in Rock Island, Illinois. The 5th annual event features local and regional artists including potters, painters, sculptors, jewelry makers and others who are inspired by nature to create. Their works will be exhibited and sold at this outdoor show. The handcrafted works will be on display in tents throughout the gardens and a variety of art price points will be offered. Rock Island Public Library has created a particularly sweet event to wrap up “Reading Colors Your World” summer reading challenges. The Scratch Cupcakery Curbside truck will be on site at the Rock Island Downtown Library, 401 19th Street, Rock Island, from 3:00 to 6:00 pm on Tuesday, July 27. The Genesius Guild will close the 2021 season by going back to their roots with a Greek tragedy. Euripides’ Hippolytus will be staged July 24, and 25. All performances begin at 7:00 PM and will be held at the Don Wooten Stage in Lincoln Park, Rock Island. Admission is free.   This performance continues a longstanding tradition. Superman is hardly the only “Man of Steel.” That moniker could apply to Steven Maeck of Decorah, Iowa, a sculptor who works in welded and assembled steel. The 64-year-old Vermont native is among 10 Midwest artists chosen this year to have their sculptures leased and placed throughout the Quad-Cities last month, in Quad City Arts’ public sculpture program.
