Where can you get good food, dance lessons and great local live music? The Starlight Revue Concerts, that’s where! The 63rd Annual Starlight Revue Concert Series will kick off this Tuesday Jun 4 and will continue every Tuesday night through Jul 30 (with Aug 6 as a rain date). This free concert series takes place at Lincoln Park in Rock Island (38th Street). Hy-Vee will be serving up dinner on the grill, beginning at 5 p.m. At 6:30 p.m. QC SoDa dance lessons will be provided, for those who want to learn some new moves or rejuvenate their former mojo. True Merch: ‘Merchant of Venice’ Coming To Town

The Genesius Guild will present “The Merchant of Venice,” opening on Saturday, July 14 at 8 p.m. in Lincoln Park, Rock Island, IL. The production will also be performed Sunday, July 15 and the following weekend, July 21 and July 22 at 8 p.m. All performances are free and open to the public. “The Merchant of Venice” is a play often studied in high school and college, but rarely performed onstage in the United States. Genesius Guild Kicks Off Theater In Lincoln Park This Weekend

It’s not summer without Genesius Guild, and the venerable local theater company begins its latest round of theater in the park shows this weekend after debuting its performance schedule with Ballet Quad Cities’ Ballet Under the Stars in Rock Island’s Lincoln Park last weekend. The 2018 summer series includes nineteen performances of five productions, including ballet, Shakespeare, and classic Greek drama. In this play, two protagonists are fed up with the media-driven ways of human life and society. They tire of politics. They grow weary of the rules and struggles for power.
