Quad-Cities' IHMVCU Helping People To Get To The Polls To Vote

The 2020 presidential election is less than two weeks away. Are you ready to vote? Better question: Do you have a ride to cast your ballot? According to data from the 2016 Survey of the Performance of American Elections, more than 15 million eligible voters didn’t make it to the polls during the last election because they had no way of getting there. But IHMVCU wants to help change that. From October 26 through November 3, IHMVCU will pay the fees for its members to use local buses, cabs, Lyft and Uber services to get to the polls. Just keep your receipt and turn it in to IHMVCU to be reimbursed... Read More

One Human Family Quad-Cities Offering Free Non-Violence Training In Case Of Election Problems

Have we really gotten to this point? Sigh. I guess so. Anyway, One Human Family QCA is offering free non-violence training and planning responses regarding any failure to accept election results and ensuing violence due to that. You know, the same election results that have been accepted in non-violent fashion for over 100 years. But, hey, it’s 2020, Jake. I’m not saying they’re wrong for doing this, I’m saying it’s sad they have to even think about it, let alone put something like this together. “Everyone must stand united in favor of fair and free elections in... Read More
