Western Illinois University Announces Fall 2022 Community Art Program

The Western Illinois University Art Education department will offer a free Community Art Program for students in first through fourth grades over three Sundays in October and November. The classes will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. Oct. 30, and Nov. 6 and 13 in Garwood Hall. Classes for first and second graders will be held in room 24 and classes for third and fourth graders will be held in room 25. Western Illinois' Delta Upsilon to Host Annual Haunted Trail Fundraiser

The Western Illinois University chapter of Delta Upsilon Fraternity, will host its 8th annual Haunted Trail fundraiser from 7-9 p.m. Friday-Saturday, Oct. 28-29. The event will be held on the fraternity house property at 620 W. Elting St., in Macomb, and the entrance to the trail begins at the front door of the house. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door, and can be purchased through the chapter’s Venmo account at DU-WIU, or from a member of the chapter. Margaret “Peggy” Treese was a local Davenport woman who was a victim of a brutal crime. She lived at the Standard Hotel, now the German American Heritage Center, with her lover Clarence Saunders.
