Project NOW Aiding People Affected By Building Collapse In Davenport

Project NOW is joining forces with other Illinois not-for-profits to aid those affected by the building collapse in Davenport. Project NOW will serve as a collection place for non-perishable food, new clothing, hygiene products, furniture, mattresses, etc.  Items can be dropped at its 418 19th Avenue Rock Island location for the next month.  Items can be dropped off between the hours of 7 am and 6 pm. Rock Island Summer Sports Camps Kicking Off

The following sports camps are scheduled for summer 2023: Rock Island Youth Football Camp 3rd-6th grades Attention all families with students entering 3-6th grade for the 2023-2024 school year.  Sign-ups for the 2023 Rock Island Youth Football program are open.  Equipment issue and practice begins in August.  All students in those grade levels are welcome to sign up to participate in Flag Football (3/4 grade) and tackle football 5/6 grade. QUAD CITIES, Iowa/Illinois—The Quad Cities Community Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2023 Operations and Program Grant program. This year, the Community Foundation will award over $486,000 to nonprofit organizations in the Quad Cities region. Operations and Program Grants provide flexible and reliable funding for general operating support or program support for successful ongoing efforts. MOLINE, IL – – Western Illinois University’s Environmental Science: Large River Ecosystems program is working with the city of Moline to study the concentration of phosphorus in the Rock River. “This is a proactive effort to determine how pending regulatory changes might affect the South Slope Sewage Treatment Plant,” said WIU Environmental Science Director Roger Viadero.
