BREAKING: As Iowa continues as a hot spot for covid-19 cases, Governor Kim Reynolds is extending mitigations for “at least another week” on the state. “We look at it on a daily basis, we review it on a daily basis, we review it on a weekly basis,” Reynolds said in a press conference today. “We still have a long ways to go on our hospitals, but they are seeing some relief. Quad Cities River Bandits Become Kansas City Royals Advanced-A Affiliate

The Quad Cities River Bandits will move up a level of play and become a Kansas City Royals affiliate, whenever the team ends up playing again after covid-19 mitigations. Major League Baseball announced today that the Quad Cities River Bandits and eleven other Midwest League teams will be moving up one level of play, as the team and the league have been promoted from Single-A to Advanced-A baseball. A record-breaking number of people came out for free covid-19 tests over the weekend at the TaxSlayer Center, the first of three weekends this month offering free testing at the Moline venue. Over 850 free tests were given on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 5-6, breaking the old record for the most number of tests given out over a weekend, according to Kyle Douglas, site manager for HR Support, the subcontractors running the testing location.
