Janie's Riverview Cafe A Little Bit Of Home In Buffalo, Iowa

There’s a little bit of home, a little bit of vacation, a little bit of a view, but a lot of love at Janie’s Riverview Cafe in Buffalo, Iowa.

This journey I’ve been on for over a year now to bring my reviews to every local restaurant has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done. I meet folks, shake hands, bump fist, laugh and learn a little of their story so I can craft mine.

If you drive too fast you might miss this quaint little stop a long the river, and that very well maybe a mistake.

Home cooked styling and hearty plates will make you feel right as rain.

Most days you may have Janie taking your order and cooking it herself.

With a warm smile and a

loving heart she’ll let you know her favorites, and cook them up as if your were family stopping by.

The crowd in this little place will catch you up on the local news, show you pictures of their new pups, or ask you if your from around here because you look familiar.

If you’re lucky you’ll get Julie as your waitress. She’s a Minnesota girl transferred here, who’s a little extra like guac, but loves

to laugh and is trying to learn the regulars orders already.

The Raspberry and Creme French toast is a tart but sweet dish to wake you up in the morning. Reminiscent of days spent picking fresh berries with my family, this dish brought me back home for a minute.

The Bisquits and Gravy will stick to your ribs, your soul, and maybe even help you lay a brick wall. However they are delicious and filling. I asked for a half order and when a full order hit the

table I knew an afternoon nap was taking place.

Mama bear tagged along and threatened to stab me if I touched her breakfast burrito, so I’ll let that speak for itself.

I know it’s a little outside the city, but if you should find yourself in Buffalo stop in say hello to Janie for me and have a bite to eat and really see what it’s like to witness a crew of family and friends who love what they do and who they serve.

Who knows maybe Jamie will learn your order as you become another regular.
