Augustana College Hosts Show Choir Camps Of America This Week

Augustana College hosts Show Choir Camps of America from June 15-19.

More than 470 students and 67 directors from 20 states will spend the week developing performance, leadership and educational skills through intensive workshops, rehearsals and performances.

As participants prepare for a culminating showcase at the end of the week, students may choose from workshops focused on vocal technique, leadership development, careers in music, health and dance styles ranging from the 1930s to hip-hop. Directors and educators will participate in a separate professional-development track featuring more than 60 hours of instruction on topics including Choir 101, show design and music technology.

The camp reflects Augustana’s commitment to engaged learning by connecting students and educators with industry professionals and hands-on learning experiences.
