MACOMB, IL — The Western Illinois University Food Pantry is moving to a new location on the WIU-Macomb campus. The new location will be in Horrabin Hall, room 10, across from Stipes Hall. The Food Pantry organization is grateful to those who have helped with the operation, including students past and present, faculty and staff, as well as WIU administration. The Food Pantry will be able to offer a wider variety of items the campus community with the new, larger location. MACOMB, IL – As the COVID-19 pandemic has limited the internship opportunities available to many Western Illinois University students, several have found opportunities to complete their academic requirements on campus. Graphic communication graduate student Morgan Payne, of Macomb, had been a student worker in WIU’s Department of Engineering Technology for four years. When it came time for Payne to compete her internship, she had difficulty finding an opportunity because of the coronavirus. Nov. 7 Fallen Soldiers 5K Moves to Virtual Format

MACOMB, IL – The ninth annual Western Illinois University Fallen Soldiers 5K Run/Walk will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, but this year’s event will be completed in a virtual format because of the restrictions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. Runners and walkers will complete the 5K on their own and the race will be timed using an app. Winners will be announced virtually. Heaton Named September Employee of the Month at Western Illinois University

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University Associate Agricultural Research Technician Brent Heaton has been named the Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month for September 2020. Heaton was hired in June 1999 and had his classification changed to assistant agricultural research technician in April 2010. He audited to his current position in September 2014. MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University School of Music will present the WIU Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Professor of Music and Director of Bands Mike Fansler, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26.
