Amy Stoddard Named Employee Of The Month At Western Illinois University

Amy Stoddard, office manager for the Western Illinois University English Department, has been named the June 2025 Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month.

Stoddard’s nominator noted her consistent enthusiasm for the University, keeping the English department running smoothly.

“In addition to the normal requirements for office managers, she is more than willing to help with organizing department events,” they said. “She is a great problem solver when things come up in the department.”

Stoddard also plays a hand in promoting WIU’s mission and serving as an ambassador for the University.

Amy Stoddard has been named the June 2025 Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month.

“Stoddard’s actions impact the faculty and students in the department by helping to create a positive environment and working to make sure everyone has what they need to be successful,” her nominator said.

As the Civil Service Employee of the Month, Stoddard will receive a $100 stipend (before taxes), a plaque, a reserved parking space and recognition in WIU communications. She will also be eligible for the Civil Service Employee of the Year Award in December.

The Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month Award was established in 2010 through an endowment created by the Goldfarbs. The WIU Foundation provides a $500 stipend for the annual Employee of the Year Award.

WIU faculty, staff, administrators and community members who wish to nominate a civil service employee for monthly recognition can contact the Civil Service Employees Council at csec-nominations-g@wiu.edu.
