Reflecting urgent issues that dominated discussions nationwide in 2020-21, the Quad Cities Chamber this week honored a local Covid coalition and a St. Ambrose leader in diversity, equity and inclusion. The Chamber held its Annual Meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 11, at Davenport’s Rhythm City Casino Resort. The Quad Cities Chamber and IowaWORKS have partnered with local school districts to hold a QCA Hiring Fair for 10th to 12th grade students. The event will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 3 at the RiverCenter, 136 E. 3rd St., Davenport, IA. Masks are recommended. EXCLUSIVE: Controversy erupted with the ferocity of a barroom brawl on social media Monday night after the Rock Island City Council voted 4-3 to indefinitely maintain a 2 a.m. closing time for bars in the downtown Rock Island District area.
