Explore Your World With Junior Theatre Camps

Students can adventure throughout Junior Theatre, exploring all elements acting, theater design, and a wide array of other fun topics! Students collaborate on ideas for the creation of their very own script that they perform on the final day for family & friends in our main theatre! Ages: 6-13 years; Time: 8:45am-3:30pm; Cost: $165 resident / $185 non-resident. Early drop off starting at 7:30am and late pickup ending at 5:30pm are available. Junior Theater is ready to kick off its latest season with “Beauty and the Beast,” at its 2822 Eastern Avenue, Davenport, location. After five years as a DJT stage manager, Valerie Moore takes the director’s chair to lead the production. “What I love most about DJT is the safe space that it creates for students,” said Moore. “No matter what is happening at school, or at home, or online, when they are here they are welcomed with open arms. In their first Broadway musical in nearly a decade, Junior Theatre brings Dr. Seuss to Life in “Seussical.” Performances are 1 and 4 p.m. Feb. 17, 18, 24 and 25. After 36 years, Davenport Junior Theatre’s Mary Fluhrer-Nighswander Theatre once again seeks key renovations. “We are replacing the theatre seating, installing new carpet, repainting the interior, repairing subflooring and more,” said DJT’s Artistic Director and alum, Daniel Sheridan. “We’ve made great use of this space over the last few decades.
