Davenport North hosted the 88th Annual Jesse Day Relays, April 13, 2023, at Brady St. Stadium! This relay event is named after Jesse Day, who was a Geometry and track coach for the Davenport Community School District. Virginia Wayne, daughter of Jesse Day, was recognized at the relay event because she was celebrating her 95th birthday. The pandemic has suppressed live theater performances and movie theaters alike, but it hasn’t brought down Leslie LaCorte’s spirits. LaCorte, a Language Arts/Theater instructor at North High School in Davenport, IA, is working to keep her students excited about acting by turning it into a virtual experience. Leslie LaCorte, drama director at Davenport North High School, and her students are itching to get back to live performances.
