Quad-Cities' 'Quiet Place' Duo Beck And Woods Release Trailer For 'Haunt'

Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, the authors of the Oscar-nominated “A Quiet Place,” will be back this fall, opening their first major motion picture they’ve written AND directed, “Haunt.” The film, about an extreme haunted house that isn’t quite what it seems, opens Friday, Sept. 13, and stars local actor Justin Marxen. Scott Beck & Bryan Woods will host a Q&A at the Cedar Rapids Independent Film Festival this Saturday 4/13 at 3:45pm to discuss their journey from young filmmakers to working in Hollywood on such films as A Quiet Place and their upcoming Stephen King adaptation “The Boogeyman”. Former Quad-Cities filmmakers Scott Beck and Bryan Woods took home the Critics Choice Award for Best Sci-Fi/Horror Film for their blockbuster hit “A Quiet Place” at Sunday’s trophy ceremony in Los Angeles. Beck and Woods co-wrote the screenplay for the smash hit, which was also nominated for Best Original Screenplay, losing to legendary veteran filmmaker Paul Schrader for his script for “First Reformed.” Beck and Woods grew up in Bettendorf and began their career producing films around the Quad-Cities area, featuring local talent.
