In order to accommodate the replacement of an HVAC unit, the Bettendorf Public Library’s drive up window and delivery lane will be closed starting this Friday, September 24th, 2021. The installation procedure is estimated to take three weeks. The book club is always seeking new members to participate  in the club’s discussion of mysteries and thrillers. The operating hours of the book shop run by the Friends of the Bettendorf Public Library have been increased by adding Wednesday hours 12:00-4:00.  The book shop, located in the previous coffee shop area, will be open Monday through Wednesday 12:00-4:00 and Saturday 11:00-3:00 beginning September 7.  Several thousand books are on sale, most for $1 each, with pocket books, chapter books and teen books for $0.50 and children’s books for $0.25.  Stock is regularly rotated with no books on display more than two months.  All proceeds from the shop are used to support library programs.
