Rock Island Public Library Book Sale Extending To Two Days Sept. 22-23

For September only, the Rock Island Public Library one-day book sale extends to 2 days!  The sale goes from 10 am to 1pm, Friday, September 22, AND Saturday, September 23  at the Rock Island Downtown Library, 401 19th Street Shop our great selection of books and other materials for all ages. Unless items are specially marked, our sale works on a voluntary donation basis. So fill a bag and pay what you like! Reading Challenge Opens Up At Moline Public Library Saturday

The Moline Public Library and Ascentra Credit Union are pleased to recognize Moline-Coal Valley School District’s first graders and students in mixed first grade classes who completed the 2022 Grrreat Tiger Tales Reading Challenge. Awards ceremonies for the schools are scheduled from 10:30 am to 3:10 pm on Saturday, November 5 at the Library. Tiger Tales encourages first graders and students in mixed first grade classes to read 10 books during the month of October. The Davenport Public Library will be hosting a caregiver program on Tuesday, August 2nd |Eastern at 10am. Bring some of your child’s favorite storybook characters to life with felt! Felt boards make stories interactive while building memory, creativity, vocabulary, and literacy skills. Participants will leave the session with a ready-to-use felt board set to bring new excitement to storytime at home. Teen Videos Sought For New Contest At Davenport Public Library

Teens between the ages of 11-19 are invited to show off their creativity and filmmaking skills by creating videos for the QC Libraries’ Annual Teen Video Contest! Two grand prizes of $100 Visa gift cards will be awarded to winning videos in each category: Short Form Video (30-60 seconds) and Long Form Video (3-5 minutes). Teen readers (ages 11-19) are invited to take part in this annual teen challenge to see which QC Libraries’ teens can read the most during the month of October! Every QC teen reader who reads for at least 1,000 minutes will be entered into a grand prize drawing to win a $100 Visa gift card!
