The super line up of events for Sept. 10-17 includes:

Coffee and a Movie Morning, 9:30 am, Monday, Sept. 10, Rock Island Downtown Library, 401 19th Street. See the classic adventure tale by Stephen Spielberg featuring Indiana Jones, the globe-hopping archeologist. In this first installment of film franchise, our hero is trying to outrun a group of Nazis searching for the Ark of the Covenant. Small Business and Non-Profit Website Strategies, Tuesday, Sept. 11, 6:00 to 7:15 pm, Downtown Library. With customers searching for information online before ever walking through the door, a strong online presence is a must. Andy Shearouse will share some of the strategies that Augustana’s EDGE Center has built over more than 20 years of web development for local small businesses and non-profits. From communication strategies to figuring out the puzzle of search engine optimization, this program will cover a number of strategies for creating or improving a business/organization website. Shearouse is the assistant manager of Augustana College’s EDGE Center for entrepreneurship. Age level: Adults.

Southwest Craft Night, 6:00 pm, Tuesday, Sept. 11, Southwest Library, 901 Ridgewood Road. Fun craft for all ages – make a fall leaf mobile with beads, strings, and leaves. Sign up online or by calling 309-732-7338. Age level: everyone.

Marvel Movie Night: Thursday, Sept. 13, 5:00 to 7:30 pm, Downtown Library. Catch up with what’s going on in the Marvel Universe with a free showing of the movie based on the best-selling comic, Thor: Ragnarok. Will our favorite superheroes survive the upcoming conflict? Free, for teens age 13 or older and adults. Movie is rated PG-13.

Technology Open Lab, Friday, Sept. 14, 9:00 am to 10:30 am, Rock Island 30/31 Library, 3059 30th Street. One-on-one, drop-in help from a Reference Librarian on questions about devices, email, the Internet, and more. Let us help you figure it out! Age level: adults.

Prehistoric Quad Cities with Ferrel Anderson, Monday, Sept. 17, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, Downtown Library. Journey through time as Ferrel Anderson of the Quad Cities Archeological Society discusses prehistoric Quad Cities area mound builders and the Spirit Path. Age level: Adults.

September is Library Card Sign Up Month, and this year’s honorary hosts are the superhero family, The Incredibles. Check out all the super things you can do with a Rock Island Library card this September. From books, movies, music and magazines for all ages, downloading digital books and music, streaming movies and TV, free access to the New York Times online, and enabling online research anytime, your library card comes with some major superpowers!
