Dress for Success Quad Cities is one of many Quad City organizations impacted by the devastation of the flooding of the Mississippi River. The organization lost a great deal of inventory, as well as their location in Downtown Davenport. To recover the lost inventory, Dress for Success Quad Cities is holding a “Staying Afloat” Community Clothing Drive.

Starting on June 14 community members can drop off donations of job interview appropriate clothing at a number of participating area businesses. Currently, over 20 Quad City businesses and nonprofits have offered to serve as drop-off locations.Dress for Success Quad Cities to Hold Staying Afloat Community Clothing Drive

Businesses who would like to participate as a host location for this special drive, can contact info@dressforsuccessqc.org. There is no cost to participate and participating host locations will be asked to deliver the donations to  Dress for Success Quad Cities sometime between July 8-13.

Members of the public can begin setting aside any new or gently used women’s business-appropriate clothing, accessories, and jewelry now and then bring these to participating drop off sites. Clothing and accessories must be seasonally appropriate, in excellent condition, and on hangers if at all possible. All women’s sizes are needed. As with all donations, Dress for Success Quad Cities encourages donors to “Tuck $10” to help offset costs.

Host locations have until June 13, 2019 to register as a participant. Donations will be collected from June 17-21.  High-end donations will be accepted by appointment only, beginning June 14.

Drop off sites will be at various participating businesses throughout the Quad Cities.
