Jersey 4 Jersey Benefit Show

The New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund (NJPRF) proudly presents JERSEY 4 JERSEY – a one-night broadcast fundraiser to fight the medical, social and economic impact of COVID-19 on New Jersey’s most vulnerable communities.

The one-night event featuring Bruce Springsteen, Saquon Barkley, Tony Bennett, Jon Bon Jovi, Danny DeVito, Whoopi Goldberg, Halsey, Chelsea Handler, Charlie Puth, Kelly Ripa, Jon Stewart and SZA, will raise funds to fight the impact of COVID-19.

This special evening will feature New Jersey’s biggest champions and celebrities participating from their homes. This recognition of New Jersey’s strength and character will also include first-hand accounts from front-line workers and citizens impacted by the pandemic.

Jersey 4 Jersey will be broadcast at 7 PM EST on Wednesday, April 22, on Apple Music and AppleTV apps, worldwide. It will also be broadcast live and rebroadcast on SiriusXM E Street Radio and carried on a variety of television and radio stations.

“New Jersey is on the front lines of this pandemic, making it more important than ever for us to do what Jersey does best – take care of one another,” said New Jersey First Lady Tammy Murphy. “That’s why we’re asking everyone in our state to join the NJPRF and some of New Jersey’s finest for some much-needed musical entertainment, levity and Jersey Pride during these unprecedented times.”

Besides raising funds for NJPRF.org, JERSEY 4 JERSEY will honor those on New Jersey’s front lines, including healthcare workers, first responders and other essential employees. The event also will remind all those tuning in about how they can help stop the spread.

JERSEY 4 JERSEY will be produced by Joel Gallen, who recently produced the iHeart Living Room Concert Benefit for Fox, in addition to numerous other fundraising television events including the award-winning telethon that immediately followed September 11.

The Virtual Catalyst Awards and On-Line Auction

The Arc of the Quad Cities Area is igniting a passion for inclusion at the Virtual Catalyst Awards & On-Line Auction.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Arc of the Quad Cities is turning the Catalyst Awards event into an online, virtual event. Although this may seem a very creative solution to a modern problem, this isn’t the first time that The Arc has had a virtual event. In fact, The Arc had a Phantom Ball in the 1960s where no refreshments were served, no music was heard, and no drinks were poured. The invitation asked attendees to an evening “in your own home,” or on Cloud 9. The cost to attend – whatever it is worth for you not to go. No dress recommendations were made except for “no tie.”

Following in line with that tradition they will be recognizing our honorable slate of honorees through a variety of outlets including their Facebook Live event on Friday April 24 starting at 5:30 p.m.

Community Partner – IA/IL Center for Independent Living
Business Partner – Group O
Lifetime Advocate Award – Mark & Vinnie Smith from Hand in Hand
Lifetime Service Award – Knights of Columbus, IA Quad Cities

“Attendees” can participate in an on-line auction at https://www.biddingforgood.com/thearcqca/.

GiGi’s Playhouse Quad Cities’ 2020 “i have a Voice Gala” Goes Virtual

GiGi’s Playhouse Quad Cities’ “i have a Voice” gala committee and board of managers have been faced with a very difficult decision, recently. Due to COVID 19 and the recent restrictions for gatherings, they were faced with cancelling and/or rescheduling their upcoming annual gala. They then decided to think outside of the box.

The gala will go on…. same day, same time, only now online!

The 2020 “i have a Voice” Gala will be held virtually!

The tagline for this year’s event is “A Voice for All Seasons.” When they chose that tagline, they had no idea they would be entering a season and time of pandemic and crisis. They hope that you will join them for the first (and hopefully last) virtual gala! Same time, same date, different format although it will be more alike than different which is a saying GiGi’s Playhouse hears and says often!

While the look of the 2020 Gala has changed, the purpose has not! Friends are coming together to celebrate the achievements of local individuals with Down syndrome and the volunteers that make GiGi’s programs possible!

Invite your friends, family, coworkers and others to join you!

This event made possible by generous sponsors:
*Gold Sponsors*
United Healthcare and Isle Casino Hotel Bettendorf
*Silver Sponsors*
Modern Woodmen of America and Regional Development Authority
*Bronze Sponsors*

This concert is set to be a major and significant relief effort to help Angelenos cope with the severe restrictions imposed on everyone during this dangerous and uncertain time of the novel coronavirus crisis.

Keeping with the strict “stay at home” regulations of health authorities and the guidance of local, state, and federal government officials, this virtual once-in-a-lifetime streaming event will give fans their music fix in the comfort of their own homes. The concert will feature an array of talented singers, songwriters, musicians, actors, authors, comedians, and celebrities of all sorts “coming together” to entertain you and send out positive messages to the City of Angeles and the world. All Together Now! will be broadcast through Alert the Globe and available free to anyone who wants to see it.
Viewers will donate to the L.A. City Coronavirus Relief Fund through a direct donation button or a text message appeal.

100% of the money raised will go directly to this relief fund to help Los Angeles support families and small businesses, relieve healthcare workers, provide critical medical resources, provide services to the unhoused, and fund research for COVID-19. https://mayorsfundla.org/covid19

Supporters will enjoy not only a concert of immense talent, but one that includes being part of the bigger picture – one that embraces Los Angeles and a cross section of our community, which includes all those who have lost their jobs and have limited or no means of income until this pandemic passes.
