Optimist Club Foundation of Davenport Announces 2025 Promise Award Recipients
The Optimist Club Foundation of Davenport is proud to announce the 2025 recipients of the Promise Award, an annual recognition honoring students who exemplify the values of the Optimist Creed. This prestigious award celebrates students who lead with kindness, optimism, and personal integrity—often lifting others while pursuing their own educational goals.
Each year, three students from each of Davenport’s four high schools are selected to receive a $1,500 scholarship, awarded based on character, service to others, academic success (minimum 2.75 GPA), and plans to pursue education beyond high school. Recipients are chosen by school counselors and teachers who recognize their positive impact on their schools and communities.

A Lasting Legacy of Optimism
In addition to the scholarship, a multiple-name plaque is displayed at each school, beginning
with the inaugural 2012 recipients and continuing annually to honor those who embody the spirit
of the Optimist Creed. These students are not only academically capable, but they stand out for
their encouragement of others, resilience in the face of adversity, and commitment to self-
improvement.
The Optimist Club Foundation of Davenport believes that recognizing these students not only
celebrates their present accomplishments but also encourages their continued success and
leadership in the future.
