IowaWORKS to host private hiring event for the Quad City Steamwheelers
IowaWORKS will host its second private reverse hiring event for the Quad City Steamwheelers.
The event will be held on Monday, March 13 from 11 am until 1 pm at the IowaWORKS job center – 1801A E. Kimberly Road, Davenport.
The private hiring event will allow for employers to interview players in hopes of securing long-term employment.
“Our hope is to find employment that revolves around the players’ practice and game schedule,” Cory Ross, Steamwheeler head coach, said. “The community has been supportive of the team. Helping with employment secures the livelihood of our players to stay in the Quad Cities during and beyond the Steamwheeler season.”
Employers who will participate in the event have open positions in the companies that could accommodate practice times and games.
Most of the players have college degrees or certificates that include: medical, personal trainer, sales, human resources and management.
About 30 players plan to participate.
Employers interested in participating in the event can call 563-445-3200 Ext. 43335. The event is not open to the public, but employers are encouraged to participate.
