Q2030 Announces Kate Jennings As New Executive Director

Today Q2030 co-chairs announced the hiring of Kate Jennings as the Executive Director for the newly created 501(c)3 stand-alone organization. Jennings will start August 2nd with a staff of one, a project manager. A community reception will be held in late August. Prior to joining Q2030, Jennings served as the Deputy Chief of Staff and District Director for Congresswoman Cheri Bustos. BREAKING NEWS: United Way Quad Cities on Tuesday announced it issued $2.9 million in grants to 54 local nonprofits, grassroots organizations and others serving the residents of Scott and Rock Island counties. The Strategic Impact Grants are being awarded to advance equity and improve education, income and health outcomes in the Quad-Cities. Quad City Arts had a successful fifth-annual Chalk Art Festival last weekend – giving out $1,600 in cash prizes and new swag bag awards, as well as leaving amazing, colorful displays on the pavement at Schwiebert Riverfront Park, Rock Island. “It was wildly successful,” Quad City Arts executive director Kevin Maynard said Tuesday morning of the June 26-27 event, which drew 66 artist entries – many representing teams, with over 100 artists participating altogether. Rock Island High School wrestlers are still competing at the Illinois state level, and we’ve got updates on the results! Congratulations again to Tristan Willoughby, Amare Overton (4th place at 152), Andrew Marquez (4th place at 220), and Steven Marquez (1st Place at 195)! Daniel McGhee, Sammy Niyonkuru, Kyle Gant, and Manny Limon all won 1 and lost 2, Tyler Barbee went 2-2. They have been eliminated.
