Rock Island High School Are Regional Wrestling Champs!

For a third year in a row, the Rocks are Regional Champs! Wrestlers advancing to next week’s Individual Sectional are Champs Truth Vesey, Aoci Bernard, Steven Marquez, Andrew Marquez, Eli Gustafson, runner ups Daniel McGhee, Tyler Barbee, Matthew Cook, Amare Overton, and 3rd place finisher Sammy Niyonkuru. By winning the regional, the whole team has qualified for Dual Team Sectionals which will be held on 2/22. Up next is the Individual Sectional Tournament at Sycamore next Friday and Saturday, as well as the Girls’ Sectional in Peoria. A top 4 finish there gets you a trip to State. GO ROCKS!!!
