Pink, best known for her Grammy-award winning hits like “Get This Party Started,” and John Taylor, bassist for Duran Duran, best known for smashes like “Hungry Like The Wolf,” both announced on social media this weekend that they’ve tested positive for coronavirus. Both artists have played to sold-out crowds at Moline’s TaxSlayer Center and enjoy large followings in the Quad-Cities.

They join a growing number of celebrities who have tested positive, including Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson and Chris Cuomo, as well as Joe Diffie, who passed away from the virus, and John Prine, who is in serious condition due to complications.

Pink, Duran Duran's John Taylor, Both Test Positive For CoronavirusTaylor announced today on the Duran Duran Instagram that he’d just recovered from the virus.

Taylor posted:

DEAR FRIENDS OF MINE after giving some thought to this, I have decided to share with you that I tested positive with the Corona Virus almost three weeks ago.
Perhaps I am a particularly robust 59 year old – I like to think I am – or was blessed with getting only a mild case of Covid 19 – but after a week or so of what I would describe as a ‘Turbo-charged Flu’, I came out of it feeling okay- although I must admit I didn’t mind the quarantine as it gave me the chance to really recover.
I am speaking out in answer to the enormous amount of fear being generated by the pandemic, some of it entirely justified, and my heart goes out to everyone who has had to deal with real loss and pain. But I want to let you know that it isn’t always a killer, and we can and will beat this thing.
Sending LOVE to all my Homies and Fans, in Italy 🇮🇹 particularly, the UK 🇬🇧 and the US 🇺🇸 and everywhere in the world I have been lucky enough to visit on my travels with DURAN DURAN.
Cannot wait to be back onstage again, sharing new music, love and joy. Stay safe, stay connected and get creative! Love John 🖤

Pink announced that she and her 3-year-old son had tested positive, and were sheltering at home treating the symptoms, on her Instagram  account. She wrote:

Pink, Duran Duran's John Taylor, Both Test Positive For CoronavirusTwo weeks ago my three-year old son, Jameson, and I are were showing symptoms of COVID-19. Fortunately, our primary care physician had access to tests and I tested positive. My family was already sheltering at home and we continued to do so for the last two weeks following the instruction of our doctor. Just a few days ago we were re-tested and are now thankfully negative. It is an absolute travesty and failure of our government to not make testing more widely accessible. This illness is serious and real. People need to know that the illness affects the young and old, healthy and unhealthy, rich and poor, and we must make testing free and more widely accessible to protect our children, our families, our friends and our communities. In an effort to support the healthcare professionals who are battling on the frontlines every day, I am donating $500,000 to the Temple University Hospital Emergency Fund in Philadelphia in honor of my mother, Judy Moore, who worked there for 18 years in the Cardiomyopathy and Heart Transplant Center. Additionally, I am donating $500,000 to the City of Los Angeles Mayor’s Emergency COVID-19 Crisis Fund. THANK YOU to all of our healthcare professionals and everyone in the world who are working so hard to protect our loved ones. You are our heroes! These next two weeks are crucial: please stay home. Please. Stay. Home.❤️
