As a parent, I know what you’re feeling in regard to New Year’s Eve — you want to do something fun with your kiddos, but there’s no way they’re making it to midnight, so you’re looking for cool things to do during the day.

Fortunately, there are some spots in the Quad-Cities which have NOON Year’s Eve events for families. And we at QuadCities.com are here to give you a rundown of a couple of them. Here’s what we’ve got… have fun, and Happy NOON, I mean, NEW Year!

HyVee Virtual Noon Year’s Eve Allows Families To Celebrate New Years Eve Early

Celebrate the New Year with HyVee’s Virtual Noon Year’s Eve Party at 11 a.m. Dec. 31!

Join your Hy-Vee Dietitian Nina from the comfort of your own home for the following activities:

• New Year’s Noise Maker
• New Year’s Confetti Sticks
• KidsFit Countdown to the New Year

For this class you will need the following supplies:

• Popsicle Stick
• Glue
• Stapler
• Uncooked Pasta
• Items to decorate like paint, markers, crayons, sequins,

DIY New Year’s Party Hat

• Stretchy string, yarn or ribbon
• Stapler
• Scissors
• Tape
• Items to decorate like paint, markers, crayons, sequins,
Pom-poms, ribbon

New Year’s Sparklers
• 11 oz. thin-crust pizza dough
• Parchment paper
• 1 egg, beaten
• For sweet version you’ll need cinnamon and sugar.
For a savory version you’ll need parmesan cheese and
marinara sauce.

*The ingredient amounts listed above are for one serving. You will need to double or triple depending on how many children you have participating.

Make sure to have all ingredients ready before the start of class. Nina will lead all class participants through each craft and recipe.

Family Museum Offers Imagination Play Fun

The Family Museum’s traditional NOON Year’s Eve event, which usually draws hundreds of kids from around the area, is being postponed this year due to covid, but the museum still offers a fun event during that day.
Imagination Studio is going on Thursday, December 31st: 9:00am – 4:00pm. Kids can paint, work with clay, or use the hands-on tools to make your very own masterpiece! Any art supply or tool you need is located all in one place! Adult must stay with child(ren). Open to all ages. Included with admission to the museum at 2900 Learning Campus Drive, Bettendorf.
