Galva Summer Music Series Announces 2021 Free Concert Lineup

Grab some lawn chairs and get ready for a summer full of music in Galva, Ill.

The Galva Arts Council is excited to announce a very talented lineup for the third annual Levitt AMP Galva Music Series presented by Galva Summer Music Series Announces 2021 Free Concert LineupRegional Media, which starts at May 30.

Held at Wiley Park in Galva, starting at 6 p.m., these Sunday concerts are an opportunity for community members of all ages to enjoy free live music in a picnic-style setting. Food and beverages will be available for purchase during concerts.

Admission to the concerts is free and attendees are encouraged to invite friends, family, and neighbors for an opportunity to meet new friends and celebrate the summer season. The Levitt AMP Galva Music Series is one part of a larger network of live music events which is quickly making Henry County a destination for experiencing family-friendly live music.

Galva Summer Music Series Announces 2021 Free Concert Lineup

The Galva Summer Music Series will return May 30 with free Sunday concerts starting at 6 p.m. in Wiley Park.

The 2021 lineup includes the following acts:

May 30 – Good Morning Bedlam, Surf Zombies

June 6 – Avey Grouws Band, Stone & Snow
June 13 – Shamarr Allen, The Deep Hollow
June 20 – Rags and Riches, Ley Line
June 27 – Radio Free Honduras, The Arcadian Wild
July 11 – Front Country, Bonne Finken
July 18 – Lewis Knudsen, Mississippi Heat

July 25 – Elizabeth Moen, Heather Newman
August 1 – India Ramey, Trevor Sensor
August 8 – Wayne Hancock, Craig Gerdes

Jonathan Turner -- who has called the Quad Cities home since 1995 -- has decades of experience as a professional journalist and pianist. His experience writing for daily newspapers, public radio and local TV encompasses a wide range of subjects, including the arts, politics, education, economic development, historic preservation, business, and tourism.
Jonathan most loves writing about music and the arts (which he now does as a freelancer for the River Cities Reader and Visit Quad Cities). He has a passion for accompanying musicals, singers, choirs and instrumentalists, including playing for QC Music Guild's 2023 productions of RENT and SWEENEY TODD. He is assistant music director and accompanist for the spring 2025 Music Guild show, ESCAPE TO MARGARITAVILLE. He wrote an original musical based on The Book of Job, which premiered at Playcrafters in 2010. Jonathan penned a 175-page history book about downtown Davenport, that was published by The History Press in 2016, and a travel guide about the QC published by Reedy Press in 2022.
