Red Cross Picnic On The River Brightens Up SchwiebertWhenever there is an unfortunate disaster or crisis, one organization of helpful and compassionate volunteers is always there for support. The American Red Cross. Now you have an opportunity to give back and help support them.

The 22nd Annual American Red Cross Picnic on the River will be held on Friday June 23 at Schwiebert Riverfront Park in downtown Rock Island form 5:30-9:30 p.m.

Picnic on the River will include an array of hors d’oeuvres from area chefs, adult beverages and an acoustic performance by Quad City native Tim Stop. Guests will also have an opportunity to bid on one of the area’s largest live and silent auctions, and may also choose to participate in the wine pull, featuring an eclectic selection of wines donated by Red Cross board members and supporters.

To commemorate the American Red Cross’ 100th anniversary of serving the Quad Cities and surrounding area, Isabel Bloom will be showcasing a special centennial sculpture, “Grateful Hearts,” which will be available for $18 and proceeds benefit the Red Cross.

Tickets to this one of a kind event can be purchased on an individual basis or by reserving a table containing 8 guests. To purchase tickets online you can visit http://www.redcross.org/news/event/local/illinois/central-and-southern/Picnic-on-the-River.

Do not miss this opportunity to enjoy a beautiful evening along the Mississippi River, while supporting a great cause.
